Marc Jacobs is one of the most well respected designers of today. He is a multiple CFDA winner, and owns four of the most successful global fashion labels; Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs Menswear, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and the French house of Louis Vuitton. Every year he shows eight collections in both New York and Paris.
Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein is one of the most influential American designers. He has shot models like Brooke Shields and Kate Moss to stardom, and owns one of the biggest American fashion labels. He has won numerous CFDA awards, and at a young age, he was hailed the new Yves Saint Laurent for his innovative view, and impeccable tailoring.
Anna Sui
You may think of Anna Sui as just a designer who designs clothing for teenage girls - but she is much more than that. She has won several CFDA awards, and was one of the first designers to really reach success in not only the U.S. when she was first starting, but all across the world, building up thousands of devoted fans from Australia to Tokyo. Steven Meisel, Marc Jacobs, the late Stephen Sprouse, and Naomi Campbell are some of Anna's greatest friends and supporters.
Tom Ford
Whether you like him or not, Tom Ford is one of the most successful men in fashion. He transformed Gucci into a luxury brand when he took the helms as head designer nearly a decade ago. He also was named the head designer of the French house of Yves Saint Laurent, and received incredible success from critics. He worked with Carine Roitfeld, and dressed every celebrity from Tom Cruise to Charlize Theron. After leaving both Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, Ford now owns a multi-million dollar eye-wear label.
Narciso Rodriguez
Narciso Rodriguez owns an extremely successful self-titled fashion label, and is the first designer to win two consecutive CFDA awards. He designed Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's wedding gown to John F. Kennedy Jr., and soon after that Narciso Rodriguez became fashion royalty. He is one of the few designers to show in Europe when he was appointed head designer of the French design house Loewe in 1997. He now continues to design for his self-titled brand, and dresses many celebrities; from Sarah Jessica Parker, to our first lady, Michelle Obama.
Rodarte
Rodarte, founded by Kate and Laura Mulleavy is simply the biggest new label in fashion. With a CFDA win this year, and praise from nearly every high fashion magazine - Rodarte is bound to become a major fashion house. Keira Knightley, Emma Watson, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Reese Witherspoon along with numerous other celebrities are big Rodarte fans.
