AGYNESS DEYN HATES FASHION
British model Agyness Deyn insists she has no interest in the industry that made her name, and won’t pursue a catwalk career forever. She said: “You know, even though I’m in fashion, I don’t, like, do fashion. Fashion isn’t me, even though I work in it. It’s just materialistic stuff. I just want to do whatever makes me happy.”The blonde beauty also claims she has never admired anyone else in the fashion industry, looking to 1970's music for her style icons.
She explained, “I liked guys quite a lot - like the Clash, you know, punky guys. Siouxsie and the Banshees, X-Ray Spex.”
Agyness - real name Laura Hollins - has become famed for her unique style, but insists she only takes inspiration from herself. When asked three people who best encapsulate her personal style, she told the New York Times newspaper: “I’d say myself. I take little bits from loads of different people.”
Perhaps this means that we won’t have to see her again? I live on the other side of the pond and even I’ve had enough of her. Good riddance.
“I’d say myself. I take little bits from loads of different people.” Yes, those two ideas don’t contradict at all. At least she’s good for a laugh of mockery.
The writer of that story kind of spinned the story and Aggy’s words against her. I doubt she meant much disrespect.
Although I still suspect something wicked with the girl. Her whole attitude, look and name change feels so contrived. As if she doesn’t have a real soul- just a mixture of those alternative acid 80’s bands. That is just what I see, superficially, of course, I do not know her at all. But from looking at her and deducing from her actions and words, this is the conclusion I have come to.
