DJ AM with Stam
Sources tell us he was found in his apartment at around 5:20 PM. We're told drug paraphernalia was found at the scene.
Our sources say DJ AM had not been seen or heard from for a few days -- one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door.
We're told the friend called the cops, who gained entrance to his apartment and found the body.
Back in September of 2008, DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina. Four people died in the crash -- which was caused when the airplane aborted takeoff and then ran off the runway. DJ AM and Barker were the only survivors.

RIP DJ AM. He had such a tragic life having lived through abuse as a child and had a very public battle with his obesity on top of that drugs. Also a lot of people said he suffered from depression as well.

UPDATE: It's Kasia. I was about to make a post similar to this one, but I had no idea that Rima had already made one. So, I just thought I'd post an updated image of that picture from New York Magazine because I was working on it anyway.
Rest in peace. I had wanted to post about Dash Snow, he was one of the next great New York artists who died of an overdose at the age of 27. Of course we will all miss the incredible Ted Kennedy. And, rest in peace DJ AM - thank you for encouraging people to dance and have fun with your DJ-ing! R.I.P everyone we have lost this summer!
