Game: Models You Dislike
Name a model you dislike and say two nice things about them.
Karlie Kloss
-She’s young
-She doesn’t mind acting air headed in front of Paulina, Iman and Lauren Hutton. It is around 1:10. Iman looks like she wants to smack her. Lauren Hutton looks like she wishes she hadn't sat next to her. Good for Paulina when she proclaimed the idea of an “age prohibit”. Karlie is not afraid to speak her mind, no matter how dumb it makes her look. She opens her mouth again around 2:30 and Paulina, at an instant, puts her back into her place. Boo hoo for you, you were told that you were too skinny.
Werq! Werq!
As for myself? I eat a lot and stay in bed all day. Come on people, it is a no brainer like Paulina advised.
Quote of the Day/ Gianni Versace Era Campaigns
On the June/July issue of Interview, Donatella speaks with Lenny Kravitz about the 80’s revival in fashion:
I knew that trend was coming. I knew exactly when every designer was going to start doing it. And I couldn’t, because I was with Gianni doing the ’80s, in the ’80s. I have so many pieces in the archives that I could put right out on the runway and they’d be perfect. [laughs] In general, I think, yes, we can look back, but not that much. It’s too literal. Like shoulder pads. We belonged to that time. But for me, it doesn’t make sense today. You can play with it for one season, but it’s not going to be revolutionary. I think we should move forward, not back. To define the era we live in is very difficult . . . Fashion is struggling to define itself today. For me, I’m concentrating more on fabrics, on the technological aspect of fabrics.
Way to stand your ground Donatella! I would much rather buy one of your exquisite goddess dress that will be in my wardrobe for a long time rather than some shoulder pads piece that I will only wear for one season (or in the case of Balmain, Spring and Fall 2009).
I am so curious about which seasons Donatella had in mind! So I went on a mini search to fully comprehend what she meant. Spoiler alert: stardoll Brooke Shields, Madonna, Former America’s Next Top Model Judges Janice Dickinson and Paulina Porizkova are included.
I also included some 90’s ads because they remind me of Narcisso Rodriguez/ Tisci-Givenchy bondage, D-squared cowboy leather and colorful Marc Jacobs/ Alexander Wang like garments worn by Kate Moss.
Also, what is fascinating is you can see two decades of models gradually change from the supremely flawless Porizkova and Iman, to the glamazons with Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington, until finally to the heroin-chic model like Kate Moss.

Paulina Interview
This has to be my favorite Paulina clip. She is on Stephen Colbert to promote her novel, “A Model Summer” , which the lovely Kasia just posted a fabulous synopsis on last night.
In this clip, Paulina proves that she is not only an attractive supermodel, but an intelligent, charming, and funny lady.
Highlights:
Paulina calls the nerdy Stephen Colbert “so hot”.
She has a thing for smart guys, including paraplegic-genius-physicist, Stephen Hawking.
Stephen calls Paulina “hideous”.
Stephen asks her, “Is this your story? Is this an autobiography in fictional form?” To which Paulina replies, “If I had written an autobiography, I would have made a lot more money for it.”

A Model Story

Janice Speaks!
"That's how Tyra rolls," Dickinson shared with MTV news at the American Idol finale Wednesday.
"Tyra rolls like that, she likes to fire people just about when she's promising them large amounts of money, they get the axe, like I did.... then she takes the money and runs."
I respect Tyra, but she just bugs me so much sometimes. Like if I am flipping the channels and I land on the Tyra show and she is interviewing someone, she always tries to make it about her, “Oh my god, that happened to me!” She is like that good friend that can get tiring at times, but you stick close to her because you know she she is good at heart.
So is Tyra a business woman? Or a Tyrant? Or a Tyrannosaurus?
Paulina Porizkova Fired from ANTM
Apparently, her ego got too huge.
Paulina said her dismissal was due to "my gigantic, huge ego. Which I wasn't aware of until I was told by the producers that I have an ego problem."
Okay, Tyra is the one who keeps talking about photoshoots with Meisel, while Paulina just listens quietly, (even though she has shot with the famed photographer herself). And remember the episode where the girls had to find “The girl from Ipanema?” Well, Paulina also has a song named after her, but you didn’t hear her head explode with bragging rights!
Although, "the reason I was told I was fired was because it seemed that America's Next Top Model has gotten too fat, and they needed to cut some fat, and the fat was me." I knew I smelled the stink of budget cuts this season.
Um, good going America's Next Top Model producers, you’ve lost your first legitimate supermodel (sorry Tyra, but I have a feeling Paulina has way more covers than you).
So tragic, because unlike the previous judges, Paulina really seems to know what it means to have to be a top model. To be able to pose in couture and a bikini. To be sexy and to be high fashion. And, also unlike the previous judges, Paulina really seems to care about the girls. She likes to interact with them as much as she could and really mentor them.
So the finale episode we see tonight is the last time we’ll see Paulina on the show.
Oh, and the producers fired her on April 9, her Birthday.
What a bunch of horse dung.
